This project was for Hist697: Creating History in New Media at George Mason University in the Spring 2013 semester under the instruction of Jeremy Boggs. The class is for graduate students interested in pursuing a digital history at Mason. It required students to build a history web site, while learning HTML, CSS and JavaScript. This site is one of those final projects.
As a Master of Arts Candidate finishing my degree in May 2013, I have focused my studies on American social and cultural history after 1945, with a specific emphasis on the Vietnam War. This project began in Fall 2012 for the class Hist615: War and Remembrance, and incorporates my original research. While the initial version is a paper, I have turned the bulk of my argument into this digital exhibit. I have been fortunate to present this research at two conferences — one at University of Maryland and one at Georgetown University — and incorporated these digital tools in both discussions.
